Corsica's National Liberation Front ( French Front de libération nationale de la Corse , Cors. Fronte di Liberazione Naziunale Corsu ) is a separatist organization based in the south of France , which aims to achieve full political independence or expand the rights of autonomy of Corsica , as well as recognition by the authorities countries of the “people of Corsica” (under French law, all citizens of a country are considered French ). It was first mentioned in 1919 when a plan was adopted to create the Corsican parliament and local government. After that, Corsica received the status of a special economic zone, but the French government does not go beyond autonomy. She began active terrorist activity in 1976 , from that moment hundreds of people became victims of terrorist attacks , mainly foreigners. Organization obtains cash through smuggling, drug trafficking and robbery . The French government is currently struggling to find a solution to the Corsican problem through compromises and mutual concessions.
