Story
Stan , Kyle , Cartman and Kenny walk around the city fair and admire the stalls. On one of them, they notice Japanese weapons and decide to buy it. The seller asks permission from the parents of the guys to buy weapons, but they begin to sob and say that their parents have recently died; a sympathetic seller sells them weapons for no reason. Having taken weapons, the guys call their ninja names and at this moment turn into anime characters , drawn in stereotyped style.
“Ninjas” decide to brag to their comrades, arguing with each other along the way (for example, Kyle tells Cartman that he cannot invent any force he wants). First they go to Craig - he is delighted; then they meet butters . He is impressed by their weapons and asks to play ninja with them, but they refuse him. Butters goes home and puts on the professor Chaos costume, turning into an anime villain, destroying everything in his path. He catches up with the children, and they begin the "battle". It is demonstrated in an appropriate style, but in fact the guys just wave their weapons and scream; in addition, after Kyle and Stan lose their weapons, Kyle allows Eric to come up with any powers again, after which he turns Kyle into a chicken. After that, however, Kenny throws his shuriken at Butters for real; a shuriken sticks into his eye.
The guys recognize Butters in their opponent and are horrified to think what they should do now. Kyle says that he cannot be sent to the hospital, because then his mother will find out about the purchase of weapons, which he is afraid of panic. The guys do not dare to remove the shuriken from their eyes themselves and, finally, come up with to dress up Butters with a puppy and hand them over to the veterinary clinic. Hooking on the dog’s wool, Stan Sparky , they go to the veterinary clinic, but on the way they meet Craig, Clyde , Token and Jimmy : they bought weapons using the same lie, and now they call the "ninja" to fight. Cartman puts Butters into the oven of an old electric stove, and begins the “Tokugawa fight” to the song “Let's Fighting Love.”
Having finished the "battle", the boys notice that the Butters disappeared. They begin to look for him and meet the Chef , who goes to a large auction . Meanwhile, it turns out that Butters got on his own to a regular hospital; there he is really mistaken for a puppy, and a doctor who does not know how to treat dogs sends Butters to a dog shelter for euthanasia, from where the Butters escapes.
The boys get to the auction and see that Butters is in a semi-conscious state on the opposite side near the rostrum. Parents of all children sit at the auction; they think what to do, and Cartman recalls that, among other things, he is endowed with the power of invisibility. He takes off his clothes and (in the anime version) disappears, after which he begins to walk right along the podium. However, in fact, he is tiptoeing absolutely naked. Everything is terrified, but Butters' parents notice their son near the rostrum.
In the final in the city there is a big meeting. There you can also see Butters (a star has already been taken out of his eyes and put a bandage on) with his parents. Adults are indignant, and the boys think that they will fall. However, gradually they realize that everyone does not care about the weapons they bought; everyone is angry that Cartman was standing naked on stage, and his penis was even shown on TV. Stan, Kyle, and Kenny realize that "adults don't give a damn about violence if you can get too excited about pornography ." The three of them go outside, transform into their anime doubles and say that "the ninja still has a lot of work to do."
Creation
Although it usually takes 4-5 days to work on an episode of South Park, this one took about three weeks; the most difficult thing for the animators was the creation of new characters for each hero. They tried to use traditional methods of animation, while trying to make anime episodes resemble a typical anime [1] . Due to the fact that many members of the team of the creators of the series, including Parker , know Japanese, using Japanese phrases and expressions in the series was not a problem [2] . As a result, the creators of the series consider this work to be one of their greatest successes: for Parker and Stone, “Glorious Times with Arms” is one of their favorite series [3] , the animator of the show, Leslie Hur, names the episode as his favorite [4] .
HD version
March 6, 2007 (the day the show began season 11) Comedy Central gave Microsoft Xbox 360 Live users the opportunity to download the episode in an improved “High Definition” quality for free [5] . The download of the episode was available for two weeks in the USA , Canada , Belgium , the Netherlands , Hong Kong , Korea , Taiwan , Singapore , Australia and New Zealand .
In addition, from March 20 to April 3, 2007, Best Buy sold HD DVDs with an episode in improved quality for the Xbox 360 console or any HD DVD drive. The disc was a double-sided DVD & HD DVD with a single label on the inside of the disc (the disc with the full-length film “ South Park: Large, Long and Uncut ” also looked like that).

Cultural references
- When Kyle tries to throw away his weapon, Cartman tells him that he will not be able, with the words: "You know that this is true." This is a reference to an episode from the movie Star Wars. Episode V. The Empire Strikes Back "when Darth Vader admits to Luke Skywalker that he is his father.
- The episode ridicules American censorship principles, according to which violence is perceived as commonplace, and eroticism and pornography cause public upheaval.
- A knife resembling a Klingon dagger D'k tag is laid out on a window at a arms dealer in the Exotic Knives section.
Interesting Facts
- In this episode, Cartman, for the first time in a dispute with Kyle, mentions Mel Gibson 's film The Passion of Christ ; in the future, this line will be developed in a number of episodes, especially fully - in the series " Passion of the Jews ". Cartman calls Gibson "Mad Max", which is a reference to the film with his participation, " Mad Max 2: Road Warrior. "
- Stan uses tonfa , Kyle and Token - nunchaku , Cartman - sai , Clyde - war hoes, Craig - wakizashi , Jimmy - his crutches (although he imagines a jo staff instead), and Kenny - shurikens .
- Jimmy is the only one who did not buy ninja weapons. He does not need it. His crutches became pot-sticks, and the sleeves on them became part of his armor.
- The stray dogs scene on Butters was cut from the television version of the episode.
- In the television version of the episode, the frame with Cartman's penis was intentionally blurred.
- Stan knows that Professor Chaos is Butters. He learned this secret in the episode " Me and My Future ", but does not show it. Perhaps he just forgot.
- When Craig, Token, Jimmy, Clyde, Cartman, Kenny, Kyle and Stan fight in the anime, you can clearly see how Jimmy jumps, although, as a disabled person, he should not be able to do this (except to jump slightly, using only the power of his hands , with proper skill and training). This disagreement is probably similar to the black-haired incarnation of Kyle, who has a curly red hair in real life, it may just be a game of imagination in the ideal self.
- Dressing up as Professor Chaos, Butters calls himself "a cute eight-year-old boy." However, by the time the events of this episode he was already nine.
