Content

Name Origin

It was named on February 23, 1970 in honor of the doctor of economic sciences, professor Konstantin Vasilyevich Ostrovityanov (1892-1969). It is located in the area where the streets are named after the names of Russian scientists. Previously, it bore the temporary name “Projected Drive 4993” [5] .

History

The street appeared in 1968 and was the border of the area under construction Belyaevo-Bogorodskoe and Troparevsky forest park . Initially passed from Academician Volgin Street to Profsoyuznaya Street . In December 1968, bus route No. 196 was carried out along the street [5] . In 1970, the street was extended south-east along the border of the Bitsevsky forest park to Miklukho-Maklaya street , and in 1974 - to the north-west to Leninsky Prospekt .

In 1968-1971, the odd side of the street (house number 15–45) and the even side of the street (house number 16-30, then the buildings of the 1st microdistrict of the Warm Camp ) were built up with large - panel residential buildings. In 1979, the site on the border of the Bitsevsky Forest Park was absorbed by the expanding Sevastopol Avenue , while the numbering of houses on the odd side did not change.

In 1986-1988, houses No. 32-36 were built as part of the new Uzkoye microdistrict. In 1987, at the intersection with Profsoyuznaya Street , the Konkovo metro station was opened.

On September 15, 1974, an exhibition of paintings by Moscow avant-garde artists was dispersed in the wasteland on the corner with Profsoyuznaya Street , dispersed by police using sprinklers and bulldozers.

  • No. 30, building 2 - residential building. The physicochemist M. I. Temkin lived here [9] .

Infrastructure

At the very beginning of the street, building 1, is the Russian National Research Medical University named after N.I. Pirogov . Further in house 15, building 1, the youth theater and cultural center "Cheryomushki" is located. It was founded in 1987 by the current director and artistic director A.M. Sarapanyuk.

On Ostrovityanova Street there are also 2 kindergartens, an educational complex, 2 hairdressing salons, two shoe repair shops, reception centers for dry cleaning and laundry, a tailoring and clothing repair shop, a photo shop, a bookbinding workshop and other social enterprises. Near the street is Teplostan forest park .

Transport

At the intersection of Ostrovityanova and Profsoyuznaya streets is the Konkovo metro station.

In the section between Profsoyuznaya Street and Vvedensky Street in 1978, a trolleybus of route No. 72, which had a terminal at the intersection with Vvedensky Street, went for a short time [10] . Then the line was extended to Yasenevo, and the site was first used for an emergency turn, and then was liquidated. Currently, from the line and the trolleybus ring there are only a few supports of the suspension of the contact network.
