Biography and Creativity
The son of a musician. He studied at the Conservatory of the Roman Academy of Saint Cecilia. He played in the orchestra of the Italian Radio and Television for more than 30 years. In 1967 he formed a trio with pianist Guido Agosti and cellist Enrico Mainardi . He also performed and recorded CDs with Salvatore Accardo , Heinz Holliger , I Musici Orchestra.
Repertoire
He performed the music of baroque composers ( Vivaldi , Bach , Handel , Mozart , Alessandro Scarlatti , Boccherini , Mercadante , Tartini ), Beethoven , as well as modern composers ( Stravinsky , Rene Leibovitz , Henri Pusser , Pierre Boulez , Bruno Maderna , Bernd Aloidzim Luizmoisim , Luciano Berio , Valentin Silvestrov , Kazuo Fukushima and others), many of whom dedicated their works to him.
Teaching activities
He taught at the Academy of Saint Cecilia and at the Chigi Academy in Siena . Among the students of Gazzelloni are Robert Aitken , Carol Wincenz , American jazz musician Eric Dolphy and others.
Recognition
In their hometown they hold the Gazzelloni music festival.
