Rússian Tráded Índex (RTX) is a stock index reflecting the dynamics of shares of Russian blue chips traded on the RTS Stock Exchange in Moscow.

History
The RTX index was developed on October 8, 1997 by the Vienna Stock Exchange as an alternative to the Russian RTS and MICEX indices. This Austrians pushed a number of problems in the Russian stock market .
At the time of the creation of RTX, the Russian stock market was very young and split into pieces. There was no leading index, and the RTS index, which was often taken as the basis for assessing the Russian economy, did not reflect its real state. For example, some major market players, such as MTS and Gazprom, were absent from the index calculation base. [one]
In addition, foreign investors were severely restricted in trading Russian securities, which made their entry into the Russian stock market difficult or impossible.
Some of the problems persist today. Therefore, some securities - traded on foreign stock exchanges but linked to the Russian stock market - are based on the Austrian RTX, and not on the Russian RTS.

As of June 21, 2016 , the total number of participants increased, the role of the oil and gas sector decreased from 82.54% in 2006 to 59.78% in 2016. The total capitalization of the index exceeded EUR 117 billion [2] .
