Novy is a village in the Sergiev Posad district of the Moscow region of Russia . The population is about 5000 people. It was founded for the residence of personnel of MosNPO Radon (an enterprise for the storage and processing of radioactive waste in the 60-70s of the XX century ). Until the 1990s, it was not indicated on publicly accessible maps (due to the status of a sensitive facility). Currently, in administrative terms, it has the status of a microdistrict of the village of Shemetovo , to which Novy is closely adjacent.
