History
The eastern waterworks was commissioned in 1937 simultaneously with the Moscow Canal . Until November 1961, it was called the "Stalin Waterworks" [1] .
The eastern water supply canal supplying the station with water was built with a margin of capacity, which made it possible to double the productivity of the station in the 1960s.
Water Treatment
Water to the station comes from the Akulovsky reservoir through the Eastern Water Canal . The purity of the Volga water used makes it possible to do without year-round coagulation . Organic matter is removed by chlorination, and also (after 1966) by ozonation.
