Biography

He came from the nobles of the Estland province , was born in 1794.

In 1810 he entered the service of a column-leader in His Majesty 's Suite for the quartermaster part . The ensign was made in 1811.

During the Patriotic War of 1812, he was under Prince Bagration and participated in the battles at Mogilev and near Smolensk , and then at Borodin (for which he was awarded the rank of second lieutenant ) and in other battles of this campaign. In the campaign of 1813, Ivan Fedorovich was in the battles of Lutzen , Bautzen , Dresden , Pirn , Kulm and in the general battle near Leipzig , where he distinguished himself and received a gold sword with the inscription "For Courage" as a reward. In the same year he was promoted to colonel , and on December 14, 1825 he was appointed an aide-adjutant to Emperor Nicholas I. In the Russian-Turkish campaign of 1828-1829. Ivan Fedorovich took an active part in hostilities, and on July 7, while pursuing a defeated Turkish detachment near the town of Malye Pravy, he recaptured the Turkish convoy and captured many Turks, and soon afterwards was appointed chief of staff in the detachment of Lieutenant General K.Kh. Benckendorff , and after that - the detachment commander and chief cover officer for our military communications, which he guarded very successfully. When the troops of Lieutenant General Sukhozanet attacked the corps of Omer-Vrione Pasha, General Dellingshausen commanded the vanguard, moreover, on September 15, 1828, he attacked the fortified Turkish camp at metro Haji Asatlar, for which he was honored to receive a gold, diamond adorned, a sword with the inscription "For courage". Then, after connecting the corps of Prince Eugene Wirtemberg with a detachment of Lieutenant General Sukhozanet, Ivan Fedorovich commanded the common vanguard of these combined forces and took the storm on the advanced fortifications of the fortified Omer-Vrione Pasha camp, and skillfully covered the retreat of our troops in the evening. November 27, 1841, Ivan Fedorovich, in accordance with his request, received a dismissal from service with a uniform and with a salary pension of two-thirds of his salary.

Baron I.F. Dellingshausen was married to the daughter of Count M.I. Lamsdorf - Anne (1798-1876).

He died on November 6, 1845. In the “Russian Biographical Dictionary” of Polovtsov, the date of death is 1810, but this is an obvious typo.
