The Transfiguration Church in the Great Sorochintsy is one of the examples of church architecture of the Left-Bank Ukraine of the beginning of the 18th century . Built by the hetman Daniel the Apostle , who is buried in it.

The church is rich in decorative facades in the style of Ukrainian Baroque .
The temple has preserved a unique wooden carved iconostasis , it has seven tiers, its dimensions are 17 × 20 m, and it contains more than a hundred icons.
In 1809, the future great writer Nikolai Gogol was baptized in the Transfiguration Church.
