The Chicken Little Award for the exaggerated predictions of the inevitable destruction of the environment ( The Chicken Little Award for Exaggerated Predictions About the Impending Destruction of the Impending Destruction of the Impending Destruction Our Environment ) is a comic prize established by the Center for National Concern at the same time as the Julian Simon Prize, awarded for a sober look at the same problems [1] . The Science and Environmental Policy Project organization also announced its support for the award [2]

The prize laureates, in particular, were Paul Erlich ( 2001 ), who repeatedly expressed his support for the Malthusian ideas about the catastrophic overpopulation of the Earth and, in particular, stated in the book “The Population Bomb” (1968) that “during the 1970–80s . millions of people will starve to death ”( The Battle to feed humanity is over. In the 1970s and 1980s hundreds of millions of people will starve to death ), New York Times science columnist William Stevens ( 1995 ) for writing over 90 threat articles global warming (which, in the opinion of the creators of the award, has no scientific basis) [3] , California ( 2000 ) for restraining the electrification program for environmental reasons [4] and other individuals and organizations.
