Construction

Station "Park Chelyuskintsev"

On May 3, 1977, the first work began in the area of the future Park Chelyuskintsev station, and on June 16 the first pile was clogged. Due to the lack of the necessary equipment in Minsk, the sinking shield was delivered unassembled from Dnepropetrovsk . When driving the first line, the metro builders had to face many difficulties, in particular, the route between the “Victory Square” and “Oktyabrskaya” passes near Svisloch . The construction was designed for 8 years, but the use of the revolutionary method of construction, the so-called " wall in the ground ", by that time, accelerated the construction, and the first stage was opened for passengers on June 30, 1984 - a year ahead of schedule.

Station Names

The line was named after the terminal station at the time of opening. Initially, it was planned to call “Moskovskaya” the opposite endpoint - “Institute of Culture”, located next to Moskovskaya Street, and the second end, located next to Volgogradskaya Street, was planned to be called “Volgogradskaya”. However, the decision was later changed.

From 1992 to 2003, the Ploshchad Lenina station in trains was declared as the “Independence Square”, but then the original name was restored. At the same time, inscriptions and tablets were not replaced.

Stations

All stations of the Minsk metro are shallow . Of the 15 stations of the Moscow line - 10 column type and 5 single-vaulted .

The stations "Ploshchad Lenina" and "Institute of Culture" are interchange stations for railway transport . “Oktyabrskaya” is a transfer station to the “Kupalovskaya” Avtozavodskaya line (the latter was opened on December 31, 1990 ).
