The current name was given in 1993 in honor of the family of Ukrainian cultural figures of the XIX - XX centuries. In the 19th century, the street had the name Sobieschizna , since it had previously been the land ownership of the Sobieski royal family. During the German occupation, Fürstengrund (Princely lands) was called, and from 1950 to 1993 it was called Verkhovinskaya .
A memorial plaque is installed on the facade of house No. 5, which reports that composer and pianist Vasily Barvinsky lived in 1890-1963 ; The stove is installed around 1990 .
The editors of the Ukrainian newspaper Vesti iz Luga were located in house number 7 in Polish time; now there is a residential building.
On September 8, 2005, on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the birth of the Ukrainian artist Zenoviy Flint ( 1935 - 1988 ), a memorial plaque was installed at number 10, where he lived.
The street is built up with secession villas and elite houses of the first half of the 20th century in neo-gothic style. In the 1990s, a new six-story residential building was also constructed. In the 1970s, from the end of the street, on the site of the previous park trail, an asphalt road was laid to the building of the Ohmad hospital on ul. Lysenko , 31.
