Description
Hadzhoh is a popular tourist destination (ecotourism) [2] . In this area there are a number of archaeological monuments known throughout the former USSR “Rufabgo Waterfalls”, a unique “Mishoko Gorge”, an abandoned limestone quarry (one of the largest quarries in the world. The pit’s height is 400 meters, it exceeds only Grand canyon in the United States), Lake Krasnoye, the largest dolmen in the territory of Adygea "Khadzhokh-1" [3] and the Museum "Parking of primitive man."
Story
Initially, this branch was built in the project in order to relieve a huge movement on the Belorechenskaya-Tuapse branch and reduce the time to travel to Sochi. The road was supposed to pass through the plateau "Lago-Naki", "State Caucasian Reserve" and go to the city of Dagomys. But when the road was brought to Khadzhokh station, the Great Patriotic War soon began, the project was stopped, construction was not continued after the war, later the project was returned to it more than once, but environmentalists of the reserve forbade construction. At the end of the 1940s, a limestone quarry began to work in Hadzhokh. The road was brought to a career and used to transport goods into the interior of the country.
