Content

History

The decision to create a university was made in August 1991. USSR President M.S. Gorbachev and US President George W. Bush (Sr.) agreed on a joint educational project - Soviet-American University. On September 14, 1991, the Decree of the President of the USSR No. RP-2572 “On the International University” was signed [2] . In January 1992, the status of the university was confirmed by Order of the President of the Russian Federation B. N. Yeltsin [3] . The first president and creator of the university is G. Kh. Popov , the first rector was G. A. Yagodin . The first admission to the university took place in January 1992, and 42 freshmen began classes on February 10, 1992.

Among the former and current teachers of the university are academicians R. M. Entov , A. A. Dynkin and A. G. Asmolov , professors V. N. Livshits , V. I. Marshev , K. A. Michurina , G. A. Faculties

Faculty of Management of Large Cities

The faculty was established in 2002 at the initiative of Yu. M. Luzhkov with the aim of training qualified personnel in the specialty "state and municipal administration" to work in the management systems of large cities, as well as in organizations associated with the public sector. The educational program of the faculty is built taking into account modern management theory , Russian and foreign experience in managing large cities, Moscow specifics and is aimed at training a new generation of professional personnel for state and municipal authorities at various levels.

Leading scientists, managers and specialists of industry and functional governing bodies of the city of Moscow are involved in teaching at the faculty. Faculty of Law
