Apofansis

Apofansis ( dr. Greek ἀπόφανσις - statement, statement) - a judgment in which, through affirmation or denial, it is assumed that something exists or does not exist.

The concept of ἀπόφανσις - a statement (judgment) - is already found in Aristotle . Aristotle occupies an exclusively “apophantic” logos , that is, those types of speech in which it is only a matter of true or false being, and leaves aside such phenomena as a request , order or question , since they, although they are types of speech, they do not deal with the pure revelation of being, which means they have no relation to pure being. It is from this approach to the analysis of speech that all classical logic has grown.

From the point of view of Gadamer in the new philosophy, such a concept of utterance is associated with the concept of “judgment of perception”. A pure utterance corresponds to a pure perception. Both of these concepts did not withstand phenomenological criticism, which came to the conclusion that neither pure perception nor pure utterance exists.
