Broth , arh. decoction ( lat. decóctum ) is a non-dosed liquid dosage form , which is an aqueous extract from plant materials, specially prepared for this purpose, intended for internal or external use [1] .
Technology infusions and decoctions are very similar. The main difference is in the applied plant materials and more stringent extraction conditions: in the preparation of decoctions, water with medicinal raw materials placed in it is brought to a boil. For decoctions, bark, roots, rhizomes, rhizomes with roots, and sometimes thick, hard leaves (for example, cowberry leaves or bearberry leaves) are used.
