Transport in the Moscow region

Transport in the Moscow region is one of the most important sectors of the regional economy. Public transport in the Moscow region is represented by intercity and intercity transport systems. Long-distance transportation is carried out by electric trains (in small non-electrified areas - diesel trains ) and buses , buses are usually used for inter-city transportation, in some cities - trolley buses , trams , electric trains. Interchange centers are usually regional centers and large railway stations.

Rail Transport

On the territory of the Moscow region there are 11 main radial directions with a number of branches from them; the ring line, almost completely located in the Moscow region - the Big Ring of the Moscow Railway , crossing all 11 directions with the possibility of transplantation; one chord line of Mytishchi - Fryazevo of the Yaroslavl direction, adjacent to Gorkovsky.

10 of the radial directions belong to the Moscow Railway : Gorkovsky , Kazan , Kiev , Kursk , Paveletsky , Riga , Ryazan , Savelovsky , Smolensk (Belorussky) , Yaroslavl . The Leningrad direction refers to the Oktyabrskaya Railway, and the section of the Riga direction after the Shakhovskaya station belongs to it. The only section of the Gorky Railway in the Moscow Region is located east of Cherusti station with one platform of the Jet .

The nodal stations in the region in the radial directions are the following: Mytishchi (chord line to Fryazevo), Sofrino (line to Krasnoarmeysk ), Reutovo (line to Mytishchi and line to Zakharovo ), Pavlovsky Posad (line to Elektrogorsk ), Krivandino (line to Ryazanovka ), Domodedovo (line to Domodedovo Airport ), Necklace (radial line to Uzlovaya and beyond), Golutvin (line to Ozyory ), Lesnoy Gorodok (line to Vnukovo Airport ), Romashkovo (lines to Usovo and Rublevo) ), Golitsyno (line to Zvenigorod ), Reshetnikovo ( line to Konakovo ), Verbilki (line to Dubna ), as well as the intersection with the Big Ring of the Moscow Railway: Orekhovo-Zuevo , Kurovskaya , Voskresensk , Mikhnevo , Zhilevo, Stolbovaya , Kubinka-1 , Manikhino-1 and Manikhino-2 , Povarovo-1 and Povarovo-3 , Iksha , Yakhroma , Dmitrov . Also from the Mytishchi - Fryazevo line to Bolshevo there is a branch to Fryazino . Direct electric trains from Moscow follow all the routes listed, except for the Uzlovaya - Ozherelye, Krivandino - Ryazanovka, Golutvin - Ozyory, Riga directions after Shakhovskaya, Kazan directions after Cherusty and Paveletsky directions after Uzunov .

The large ring of the Moscow Railway is located in the Moscow Region almost completely, with the exception of the north-eastern and south-western sections. Basically, movement along it is carried out by autonomous electric trains that do not go into radial directions, but there are also “direct” electric trains from some radial directions.

Branches from Mytishchi to Pirogovo , from Nakhabino to Pavlovskaya Sloboda - were eliminated. The branch from Lyubertsy to Dzerzhinsky is used only for freight traffic throughout the railway track. Passenger traffic was discontinued along the branches from Klin to Vysokovsk and from Lukhovits to Zaraysk .

There are express routes connecting the cities of the region with Moscow: from Kursk station to Orekhovo-Zuyevo with stops in Zheleznodorozhny and Pavlovsky Posad - 1 pair per day, from Kursk station to Cherni with a stop in Serpukhov - 1 pair per day, from Kazan station to Ryazan with stops in Voskresensk, Kolomna and Lukhovitsy - 3 pairs per day, from Leningrad station to Tver with stops in Zelenograd and Klin - 1 pair per day, from Savyolovsky station to Dubna with a stop in Dmitrov - 3 pairs per day, to Lobny - 14 pairs per day, from the Yaroslavl station La to Pushkino and Bolshevo - 40 pairs on weekdays with stops in Mytishchi, to Sergiev Posad with a stop in Pushkino - 3 pairs per day, to Yaroslavl with a stop in Sergiev Posad - 2 pairs per day. In addition, there are aeroexpress trains to Vnukovo, Domodedovo and Sheremetyevo airports.

Non-electrified areas: Riga direction after Shakhovskaya, line from Ozherelye to Uzlovaya, from Golutvin to Ozery, from Krivandin to Ryazanovka. Diesel trains are operated in the first three sections, and a rail bus in the last.

Bus

The main operator of the bus network in the Moscow region is State Unitary Enterprise Mostransavto . Part of the routes is served by the Mosgortrans State Unitary Enterprise (mainly suburban Moscow routes, but also part of the city). Also in the region there are a number of private carriers, the basis of the fleet of which is minibuses ( fixed-route taxis ) - most of them partially or completely duplicate the routes of two PMUs, but there are also unique routes.

The main share of transportation falls on suburban routes [2] . A significant part of them connects the cities of Moscow suburbs with Moscow. At the metro station " Shchelkovskaya " is the central bus station in Moscow . The main stations of the Moscow metro from which suburban buses depart: Altufevo , Belorusskaya , VDNH , Vodny Stadium , Vykhino , Domodedovo , Kantemirovskaya , Kievskaya , Krasnogvardeyskaya , Kuzminki ”,“ Kuntsevskaya ”,“ Medvedkovo ”,“ Youth ”,“ Partizanskaya ”,“ Planernaya ”,“ River Station ”,“ Savelovskaya ”,“ Skhodnenskaya ”,“ Tyoply Stan ”,“ Tushinskaya ”,“ South-West ”, " South ".

Basically, in one district of the Moscow region there is one branch of Mostransavto (motorcade or PATP) with its separate numbering.

In addition to buses, city and suburban minibuses often operate on bus routes, as well as on their own, sometimes covering areas where buses do not call [5] .

Trolleybus

Trolleybus systems operate in three cities of the Moscow region: Khimki (since 1996 ), Vidnoye (since 2000 ), Podolsk (since 2001 ).

  • There are three trolleybus routes in Khimki , two of which cross the Moscow border and have an end stop at the Planernaya metro station . The length of the lines is 8.6 km.
  • There are four routes in Vidnoye , the length of the lines is 8.9 km.
  • In the city of Podolsk there are also 4 routes, the length of the lines is 16.9 km.

Tram

There are two tram systems in the Moscow Region: in Noginsk (from 1924 to 2016 ) and Kolomna (from 1948 ). In Noginsk, the route is the only one-track line with a length of 11.3 km. There are 10 routes in Kolomna, the total length of the network is 19.4 km (more than 40 km in single-track calculation).

Metro

Most of Moscow's suburban bus routes connect the region with Moscow metro stations. At the same time, by the 2010s, the metro network had gone beyond Moscow to the Moscow region:

  • Myakinino station of the Arbat-Pokrov line is located in the city of Krasnogorsk
  • Kotelniki station of the Tagansko-Krasnopresnenskaya line is located in the city of Kotelniki and has exits to the Moscow district of Vykhino-Zhulebino and the city of Lyubertsy
  • Novokosino station of the Kalinin-Solntsevskaya line has exits on South Street in the town of Reutov
