Yokadum [1] ( fr. Yokadouma ) - a city in the east of Cameroon , in the Eastern region , the center of the department of Bumba and Ngoko . The population is 16.5 thousand people ( 2001 data).

Geography
The city of Yokaduma is located 150 kilometers southeast of Bertoua , close to the border with the Central African Republic . It is connected by road with the city of Bertoua.
The city is located in a forest area.

Religion
There is a Catholic diocese in Yokadum (since 1991 ). [four]
Economics
Yokaduma is the center of the gold mining and logging area. The main industry is forestry. About 5 thousand inhabitants are employed in gold mining. Agriculture is also developed, primarily the cultivation of coffee and cocoa .
Yokaduma appears in the press as the center of the illegal diamond mining area. [five]
Landmarks and architecture
Tourists come to the city to visit the rainforests . The city has a wooden building, roofs are made of corrugated iron or pressed grass. [6]
Sights of the city and its environs:
- Statue of a forest elephant in the central square of the city. The forest elephant living in the surrounding forests is a symbol of the city. [6]
- The Lokebe Nature Reserve, in which there are pygmy settlements, is inhabited by rare animals, including gorillas . [6]
