Biography

Kurt Daluge was born on September 15, 1897 in Kreuzburg in the family of an official. He was educated at a real gymnasium and the Higher Technical School in Berlin-Charlottenburg in 1924. He worked in the mining industry, technical and trade departments of the Imperial Ministry of Agriculture, on the construction of canals and railways. In 1916 he volunteered for the 7th Guards Regiment. In World War I he was a soldier (in 1918 he received the title of Vice-sergeant major), was awarded the Iron Cross of the 2nd degree, and received a sign for being wounded . He was seriously wounded in the head. In 1918 he was demobilized with the rank of vice sergeant major . In 1919 he was a member of one of the Freikor organizations - the Rossbach group. In 1921, as part of the freikor, he participated in the suppression of Polish uprisings in Upper Silesia . Later he moved to Berlin , where he worked as an engineer at the Berlin office for garbage collection. At the beginning of 1923 he joined the NSDAP . During the “Beer putsch” was the representative of Adolf Hitler in Berlin . Here, under his command, there was an assault detachment of 30 people from among the former Freikorites and hooligan elements who were supposed to guard the Fuhrer during his trips to the capital. After the ban, the Nazi Party in December 1923 joined the Frontbann created by Ernst Roem.

In 1924–27 he worked as an engineer in Berlin. At the beginning of 1926, the number of Daluge attack aircraft was 500, which exceeded the size of the local organization of the NSDAP . March 12, 1926 re-joined the NSDAP (ticket number 31 981). Then he moved to the SS , and in the spring of 1929 he was appointed chief of the Berlin security forces, immediately taking an independent position in relation to Himmler .

Fulfilling Hitler's order, he organized monitoring of the stormtrooper headquarters. In addition, valuable information was passed on to him by an old friend Herbert Packebush . After the stormtroopers refused to guard Goebbels , put up SS posts, but they did not cope with their task, and Goebbels had to call the police to pacify the rebellious stormtroopers.

April 1, 1931 warned Ryoma about the impending rebellion of the attack aircraft:

I just received a message from the adjutant of one of the SA’s standartenfuhrer that this night from twelve to three in the morning there was a private meeting of the Berlin stormtrooper leadership chaired by SA’s group-führer Jan. At it there was a conversation about the impending Shtannes displacement, which Hitler should announce today in the afternoon at a meeting in Weimar. This order of Hitler will not be executed, which was announced by all those present at the meeting, speaking out in support of Shtannes.

After the suppression of the rebellion, I received a letter of thanks from Hitler, one of the phrases of which: “SS man, your honor means loyalty!” Became the prototype for the SS motto “ My honor is called loyalty” ( German: “Meine Ehre heißt Treue” ).

Since January 30, 1933, Daluge has been the Ministerial Director and Head of the Police Department at the Ministry of the Interior of Prussia. Since September 13, 1933 the chief of the land police of Prussia. November 12, 1933 elected deputy of the Reichstag from East Berlin.

After the NSDAP came to power, as Goering’s protégé, on May 5, 1933 he was appointed government commissioner on special assignments, and on September 15, 1933 he was appointed Prussian state adviser and received the rank of police lieutenant general. On May 11, 1934, head of the police department of the Imperial Ministry of the Interior. After the creation of the Main Directorate of Order Police ( Ordnungspolizei ), which was responsible for the management of the security police, local police and gendarmerie, on June 26, 1936, Daluge was appointed head of the Main Directorate of Order Police. At the same time, he served as the imperial plenipotentiary and state secretary of the government of Prussia.

During the Second World War, Daluge personally provided security for Hitler and other leaders of the NSDAP. He attained the rank of SS Oberstgruppenführer and Colonel-General of the Police. After the assassination of Reinhard Heydrich in 1942, Dalüge was appointed Reich Protector of Bohemia and Moravia , while retaining the remaining posts. As a protector, he, in particular, carried out a retaliation operation for the murder of Heydrich, part of which was the shooting on the spot of 173 of the 494 inhabitants of the Czech village of Lidice . During the punitive actions, over 15 thousand people were arrested within a few days, 700 of them were shot.

In May 1943, Daluge suffered a myocardial infarction , which seriously affected his health. In August of that year he was relieved of all posts and lived on his estate until the end of the war.
