Biography
“In 1940, I voluntarily joined the Red Army, served in the airborne troops and fought as part of the 103rd Guards Airborne Division ,” Kirpichenko recalled [1] .
He graduated from a special school (special school), where, along with secondary education, they also gave primary flight training .
During the Great Patriotic War
He was sent to the Air Force Engineering Academy . Since January 1945, at the front in the ranks of the 103rd Airborne Division , a participant in the battles at Lake Balaton [2] . Senior sergeant Kirpichenko took part in the liberation of Hungary , Austria , Czechoslovakia [1] .
After the war
Demobilized in 1946. In 1947 , Kirpichenko enrolled in the Arabic language department at the Moscow Institute of Oriental Studies , which he graduated in 1952 . During his studies, he was elected secretary of the party organization of the institute. [2] At the end of his studies, he was invited to continue serving in the KGB .
In 1952 he became a student of intelligence school number 101 . At the end of the intelligence school he was sent to the State of the Eastern Department of PSU KGB of the USSR .
He was a resident in Tunisia , Egypt ( 1970 - 1974 ).
Five years (from May 1974 to August 1979 ) led the illegal intelligence (control "C" PSU KGB USSR ). He worked with Helen and Peter Kroger ( Leontina and Morris Cohen ).
He led the assault on Amin's palace in 1979 .
In 1979 - 1991 First Deputy Head of PSU KGB of the USSR .
In 1997 , resigned. After his resignation, he led a group of consultants for the Foreign Intelligence Service of Russia .
Rewards

- In 2000 he was awarded the title of “Honorary Citizen of Kursk” .
- Winner of the Prize of the Foreign Intelligence Service of the Russian Federation ( 2000 ) for the book “From the Scout's Archive”.

- Granddaughter Ksenia Sergeevna - diplomat, employee of the Russian Embassy in Paris.
- Grandson Vadim Sergeevich - Orientalist-Arabist, graduated from MGIMO .
