Biography

Mikhail was born on February 13, 1966 in Moscow. His father was a military man (he left the army with the rank of major general), and his mother was an employee. He spent several pre-school years in a boarding school for children of military personnel near Krasnogorsk. Subsequently, he lived with his parents in the Far East, in Kamchatka, in Siberia.

In childhood, he studied in various sports sections, in a literary circle and in a theater studio. During his school years, he began working with the central newspapers Pionerskaya Pravda , Komsomolskaya Pravda , Krasnaya Zvezda , Pravda , Izvestia , Soviet Sport , specializing in school life and sports.

After graduation, he entered the Moscow State Institute of International Relations at the Faculty of International Journalism. During his studies, he was published in the magazines Yunost , Smena , Sovetsky warrior, poetic almanacs Poetry, Origins, regularly performed poetry on All-Union Radio, and studied at the literary studio at the Komsomol Central Committee and the Moscow Writing Organization. During summer student vacations, Mamaev worked in a specialty in the "outback", for example, in the Arkhangelsk region, the Arkhangelsk State Radio and Television, and in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, an intern at the APN bureau. He completed his diploma practice in the Latin American department of the APN, specializing in Central America and Cuba, covering events in the then-hot spots — Nicaragua , Honduras , El Salvador , and Guatemala . In 1988, after graduating from MGIMO, he refused to be assigned to the APN in one of these countries in order to stay in Moscow and get a job in the international department of Ogonyok magazine, popular during the perestroika period.

In 1988, he met with stage director Svetlana Druzhinina , who invited him to one of the main roles in the new film about midshipmen.

After a successful film debut, Mamaev continued to engage in journalism, following in the footsteps of his leader in the Spark, Artyom Borovik , and was interested in military conflicts in Afghanistan , Pakistan , Iraq , Georgia and Abkhazia . Subsequently engaged in business.

Shortly before the global financial crisis of the late 1990s, he left journalism and business and entered the acting department at GITIS and graduated with honors in two years. Mamaev himself described this period as follows: “At some point, the acting profession saved me. It has always been very important for me to do socially useful work, to help people. I was Soviet to the bone, it was difficult for me to do business at first - during my childhood it was called speculation. The fact that somewhere I buy somewhere cheaper than I sell, from the point of view of the yard truth of the boys from the Soviet military towns and garrisons, seemed a meanness - we just shared with each other when such an opportunity existed. ” [one]

After graduating from GITIS, he worked for one season at the Yermolova Theater, and then about five years in various theater entreprise. The most notable works of that period were the performances The Empress, The Lion in Winter, and Romantic Comedy.

Since 2001, actively starred in films and TV shows. In the 6-episode film “Treasures of the Dead,” viewers saw Mamaev matured and matured. This was followed by the main roles in the series “Chess Player”, “She-Wolf”, “Students-2”, “God's Gift”, “Discover, Police!”, “Champion”, “Revenge” and “Gold Reserve”.

He took part in many popular television programs: “Fear Factor”, “Big Race”, “King of the Ring”, “Dancing with the Stars”. For some time he led the program "Dad, Mom, I - a sports family."

Since September 2015, she has been conducting the Conspiracy Theory program on Channel One. [2]
