Story
A fascinating love story of an intellectual and an illiterate witch girl unfolds in the film "Olesya", based on the eponymous, most famous novel by Alexander Kuprin. Wandering through the forest, Ivan Timofeevich finds on the edge of the swamp a dilapidated hut. An old woman with a beautiful granddaughter Olesya lives in it. Many years ago, peasants, considering a woman a witch, burned their house, and the old woman’s daughter burned in it. The girl was very interested in Ivan Timofeevich and soon, subdued by the strength of feelings, the openness and purity of her soul, he falls in love with Olesya. However, Olesya foresees an early separation.
