Located 126 km northeast of Atyrau (distance by rail).

A junction of railway lines in Atyrau , Kandyagash and Beineu .

Near the village, oil is produced ( North-Emba oil and gas region ).

History

In January 1920, construction began on the Algemba railway and oil pipeline (based on the first letters of the words Aleksandrov Gai and Emba), which was supposed to connect the Aleksandrov Gai station (Saratov region) with the North Emba oil and gas region . Work on the construction of the road and the pipeline was discontinued in August 1921, it was not commissioned. According to some reports, a large number of people died during the construction of the road from hunger, thirst and epidemics [2] .

On February 10, 1934, the Presidium of the All-Russian Central Executive Committee decided “2. In addition to the decrees already approved by the Presidium of the All-Russian Central Executive Committee on November 1, 1932 (SU, No. 84, Article 365) and December 27, 1933 (SU, 1934, No. 3, Article 18), the working settlements Arys, Ayaguz, Ilyich and Karsakpay should be transformed into working villages, with the assignment of new names to them, the following settlements of the Kazak Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic: f) in the Ispulsky District, Guryevsky District, West Kazakhstan Region, newly emerged settlements in the Dossor , Koshchagil and Makat fisheries in the working settlement with the same names ” [ 3] .
