Uil ( kaz. Oiyl ) is a village, the administrative center of the Uil district of the Aktobe region of Kazakhstan . The administrative center and the only settlement of the Wilsky rural district. The KATO code is 155230100 [2] .

History
It was founded in the Kokzhar tract [3] on July 6, 1869 as the Wilsky fortification [4] . In 1920-1921 - the center of the Uilsky district of the Ural province .
Hero of the Soviet Union Nikolai Onoprienko was born in the village.
Population
In 1999, the population of the village was 5591 people (2848 men and 2743 women) [5] . According to the 2009 census , 5340 people lived in the village (2623 men and 2717 women) [5] .
As of January 1, 2016, the village population was 5460 people (2733 men and 2727 women) [6] .
