Abrogation (from the Latin. Abrogatio "cancel") - cancellation or change of outdated law (contract, agreement).

Also abolition (from the Latin. Abolitio "cancel").

Abrogation Types

  • Actually abrogation is the complete abolition of the old law;
  • Derogation ( Latin derogatio ) - partial cancellation of the old law;
  • Obrogatia ( lat. Obrogatio ) - making partial changes to the old law;
  • Subrogation ( lat. Subrogatio ) - the addition of the old law.

Etymology

The term "abrogation" is borrowed from Roman law .
