Thomas Traxtan Hare ( English Thomas Truxtun Hare ; October 12, 1878 , Philadelphia - February 2, 1956 , Rednor ) - American athlete , silver medalist of the 1900 Summer Olympics and bronze Games 1904 .

Hare was born in Philadelphia on October 12, 1878 and studied at the University of Pennsylvania . As a student, he played cricket , American football , golf and was involved in athletics , archery and bench shooting . He took part in many athletics competitions, and also entered the US national football team for 4 years.
Participating in the 1900 Summer Olympics in Paris , Hare competed in all three throwing disciplines. In discus throwing, he could not throw a shell without taking any place. In shot put, he took eighth place with a distance of 10.92 m. In hammer throw, he took second place with a score of 46.26 m, receiving a silver medal.
Heir also participated in the decathlon competition at the 1904 Summer Olympics in St. Louis . At first he took first, then second place, but after the pole vault he remained in third place and the very end of the competition, eventually winning a bronze medal.
Having completed his sports career, Hare was engaged in law and art until his unexpected death on February 2, 1956 .
