Biography
Born in December 1889 in the village. Volkovy, Dubensky district, Volyn province [1] . Ethnic Czech .
He was educated in the folk school and in the evening general education courses.
He joined the revolutionary movement in 1910 , and in 1913 joined the RSDLP .
During World War I, Zof worked as a mechanic at the Sestroretsk Arms Plant , where he headed an underground Bolshevik organization. After the February Revolution he led the Bolshevik organization of Sestroretsk , and was also a deputy of the Petrograd Soviet .
In July 1917, on behalf of the Central Committee of the RSDLP (B), he organized the relocation of V. I. Lenin under the name of worker K. P. Ivanov from Petrograd to Razliv and became connected between Lenin and the Central Committee.
From 1917 to 1918 he worked as chairman of the board of factory workers' committee of transport workers. In 1918 he joined the ranks of the Red Army .
During the Civil War, he served as commissar of the rifle brigade , 29th rifle division , and then head of supply of the 3rd Army of the Eastern Front . From 1919 to 1920 he was a member of the Revolutionary Military Council of the Baltic Fleet and the Petrograd Defense Committee.
In February 1920, he was appointed Commissioner of the Main Directorate and Chief of the Main Political Directorate of Water Transport, and in November 1920, he became Technical Assistant Commander of the Naval Forces of the Republic. Then he became a member of the Council of the military industry.
From 1921 to 1924, he worked as a commissar at the commander of the Naval Forces of the Republic, and from 1924 to 1926 - as a commander and commissar of the Navy (Namorsi [2] ). At this time he was a member of the RVS USSR .
In 1927 he was appointed to the post of chairman of the board of Sovtorgflot . In the same year he became a member of the board of the People's Commissariat of Communications . From 1930 to 1931 he worked as Deputy Commissar of Railways of the USSR, since 1931 - First Deputy Commissar of Water Transport . Later he was transferred to the position of director of the plant "Compressor" ( Moscow ).
On December 20, 1936, he was arrested and on June 19, 1937, was sentenced by the Military Collegium of the Supreme Court of the USSR for participation in an anti-Soviet terrorist organization to the death penalty. He was shot on June 20 of the same year, the ashes buried at the New Donskoy Cemetery [3] .
February 22, 1956 rehabilitated.
