Biography
Helene Segara was born in France on February 26, 1971 in Si-Four-les-Plages, a town in the department of Var, on the Cote d'Azur of the Mediterranean Sea . Her father, Bernard Rizzo, an Italian [1] worked for the bureau of the shipyard Sen Sur Mer, and her mother, Armenian [1] Teresa Kasparyan, was an employee of the tax department. After her parents divorced in 1979, eight- year -old Helen remained with her mother, who was not enthusiastic about her daughter's desire to become a singer, and in the future she saw Helen serving as a city hall. But Helen told her mother: "No, mom, I will sing!" Grandparents supported granddaughter in her dreams of singing. A few years later, when Helene was eleven years old, she took part and won the music competition by performing Nana Muskouri ’s song “Love in Heritage” ( French L'amour en heritage ).
At age 14, Helene moved to live with her father, and already at 15 left school and began performing in bars, restaurants and clubs of the French Riviera . In 1993, her first single, “Loin,” which was not successful, was released. In 1996, Helene decided to leave his hometown near the Cote d'Azur and moved to Paris .
After auditions at various studios, she meets with Orlando Giglotti ( brother and producer of Dalida ), who was very impressed with Helen's voice. Orlando becomes Helen's producer and soon her new single “Je vous aime adieu” will be released, which has become very popular and received the Rolf Marbot award awarded by fr. Société des auteurs, compositeurs et éditeurs de musique SACEM in the spring of 1997 . This song was included in her first album, Glass Heart ( Fr. Coeur de verre ) ( 1999 ), along with the songs Les vallées d'Irlande and Vivo per lei , sung by the world famous Andrea Bocelli . The album was sold in more than 600,000 copies.
In 1997, Helene got the role of Esmeralda in the musical Notre Dame de Paris ( French Notre-Dame de Paris ) Luke Plamondon and Richard Kochchiante . Helene's participation in the musical Notre Dame de Paris helped her to develop her solo career. Helene was invited to record a song ( Fr. Loin du froid de décembre ) for the animated film "Anastasia".
In 1999, Helene had to leave the musical of Notre Dame de Paris , because of a loss of voice during a Quebec tour: “During the tour I slept no more than three hours a night, while I needed eight to ten to give my voice a rest ; I lost 6 kilos, my friend left me, and in the end I lost my voice . ” Helen had a cyst of the vocal cords, and she urgently needed an operation. Doctors warned her that if she wanted to sing again, she should not talk for three weeks. Which did Helen, having lived for a long time in New York . Having restored her voice, Helen recorded the songs for her second album ( Fr. Au nom d'une femme ) " On behalf of a woman " ( 2000 ) from which the single ( Fr. "Il ya trop de gens qui t'aiment" ) - "Too many love you ”, released back in late 1999, immediately took first place in the charts of France , Belgium and Switzerland .
