“On the Other Side of the Mirror Glass” is Boris Grebenshchikov's “prehistoric” solo magneto-album [1] . The name is borrowed from Arseny Tarkovsky (line of the poem "First Dates" from the cycle "Earth - Earthly"). The album was released on CD in 2001 as part of the Prehistoric Aquarium collection.

History
The album was recorded in a home studio with a friend of Vsevolod Gakkel, Yakov Pevzner, using a makeshift reverb in the spring and summer of 1976 (December 1975 was indicated on the cover of the album itself). If “The Temptation of the Holy Aquarium ” is a concept album, “ Proverbs ” was recorded in the style of Bolan's acoustic songs, then here Grebenshchikov gropes his own style.
My first musical experience I had in the group "Watercolors". There was such a Jacob - Jacob Solomonych. Young guy, everyone just called him that. He was playing something, and at home he had a so-called studio. Fantastic at the time. A tape recorder of the “Timbre” type — such a large one, redone — either he wrote the whole width of the film, or it had some kind of through channel, sound insulation was arranged at home, in general, a real studio in the understanding of the guys in 1975 .
The songs that Bob had written by that time had practically no arrangements. And the group, in fact, was not at that time. And then turned up the opportunity to record material from Jacob Solomonych. And in fact, Boris recorded all the songs alone [2] .
