Egoriev was granted the rank of Montenegrin general and was awarded the national costume of the ferocious Balkan warrior: a short jacket like a bolero, generously embroidered with gold, a wide silk belt of red color with an ancient pistol plugged into it, picturesque harem pants and wide boots. This heroic costume was very popular with Egoriev, who generally considered his appearance prominent and warlike ...

We made fun of this petty vanity of a man who could not be denied in any way his mind, abilities and even talent. But it was precisely these features and his desire to dominate that were suitable for the Montenegrin army, which could not be taken with modesty, understanding, and one businesslike attitude. The arrogance and opera form of the Montenegrin general impressed the local warriors of all degrees, who had the psychology of mountain robbers. They were waiting for the “chieftain” and got it!
