Abisko , or Abisko ( Swede. Abisko , Sami Sam . Ábeskovvu ) - a national park (landscape reserve) near the village of Abisko (Abisko) in Norrbotten County in northern Sweden , two hundred kilometers north of the Arctic Circle , near the Norwegian border (to Norway 20 km directly, 37 km by rail). It was founded in 1909 - less than a year after the adoption of the first law on nature conservation in Sweden.

It includes the deep canyon of the Abisku River and the southern shore of Lake Turnetresk ( Swede. Torneträsk ), freezing for 6-7 months a year. From the south and west the park is sheltered by mountains. In summer, the sun does not set here exactly a month - from June 13 to July 13.
Animal kingdom: reindeer , arctic fox , lemming , wolf , wolverine , elk , brown bear , partridge , skuas , white owl , buntochka , golden eagle , bluethroat , snipe , bastard .
