ISO 8859-3 is an 8-bit code page from the ISO 8859 series for representing Turkish and Maltese , as well as for Esperanto .
This code page is relatively small: for the Turkish language, ISO 8859-9 or Windows-1254 compatible with it is more often used; ISO 8859-3 used to be popular among Esperantists, but now Unicode is more commonly used.
ISO 8859-3 Encoding
The bottom of the encoding table is fully ASCII encoded. The numbers below the letters indicate the hexadecimal code of the letter in Unicode.
The coloring shows the differences from ISO 8859-1 : Esperanto is marked in green, Turkish in yellow, Maltese in pink, yellow and green are auxiliary characters for keyboard input, and blue are empty cells.
