Amangeldy gas field ( Amangeldy gas condensate field ) is an oil and gas field in the Zhambyl region of Kazakhstan , 165 km north of the city of Taraz [1] . Refers to the Chu-Sarysu oil and gas region .
Opened in 1975 . The deposits at a depth of 0.45 - 2.2 km. Gas flow rate 37-213.4 thousand tons / day. The oil and gas bearing structure has a size of 13.5 × 7 km and a thickness of about 400 m. The oil and gas bearing layers are enclosed in the Lower Permian - lower carbonate sediments [1] .
The mining center is the city of Taraz.
