Member of the Civil War. Printed from 1923. He was the secretary of the IAPP . He graduated from the Moscow State Pedagogical Institute. VILenina (1931), postgraduate studies (1933). Member of the Union of Writers of the USSR (1934), Chairman of the Board of the Writers' Union of the Jewish Autonomous Region . He was arrested in 1937, in the camps until 1942. From May 1942 he was a Red Army soldier of the 126th rifle regiment of the 37th division of the Kalinin Front . Dismissed from the army in December 1943 due to illness.
He was awarded the Diploma of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the RSFSR (1980).
