Humanity +

Humanity Plus (Humanity +, Humanity Plas) is a public non-governmental organization that supports technology that expands human capabilities in the broad sense of the word. The organization supports research related to enhancing a person’s intelligence, developing his body and improving the quality of life.

The main objectives of the organization:

  • To support discussion and informing the public about new technologies;
  • To protect the right of individuals in free and democratic societies to apply technologies that expand human potential;

  • Actively promote and support the development of new technologies, which are believed to have a rather likely positive benefit.

History

Until 2008, the organization was called the World Transhumanist Association (WTA). In contrast to the technopo-utopianism of the Institute of Extraptia , BTA officials believed that social forces could undermine their futuristic visions and should be warned.
