Tatyana Alexandrovna Samuil (born October 5, 1974 , Perm ) is a Russian violinist . The daughter of the Moldavian conductor Alexander Samuel , the sister of the singer Anna Samuel .

Biography
She received her secondary musical education at the E. Koki Secondary Special School and at the Sergey Rakhmaninov Musical Lyceum ( Chisinau , Moldova ) as a violinist, and at the same time studied composition in the class of Semyon Lungul . She graduated from the Moscow Conservatory ( 1997 , Maya Glezarova's class), then improved her skills at the Brussels Conservatory under the direction of Igor Oistrakh . In 1998 , she won the Henri Viotant Violin Competition in Belgium. She also received a number of prizes and diplomas at other prestigious international competitions, including the Sibelius International Violin Competition (2000), the Queen Elizabeth Competition, and the Tchaikovsky International Competition ( 2002 , third prize).
