The State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan ( Tat. Tatarstan Republicsynyң Dәlәt Soviets ) - the Parliament of the Republic of Tatarstan , is the permanent supreme representative , legislative body of state power of the Republic of Tatarstan. The State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan is elected for a term of five years. The State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan consists of 100 deputies . A citizen of the Russian Federation who has reached the age of 21 may be elected as a deputy of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan. It is headed by the Chairman of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan.

The IV convocation of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan (2009—2014) was elected according to single-mandate constituencies (50 people) and party lists (50 people). The barrier to party election lists in 2009 was raised to 7% following similar changes in federal electoral law .

Functions
The jurisdiction of the parliament includes the adoption and amendment of the Constitution of the Republic of Tatarstan, legislative regulation on the subjects of competence of the Republic of Tatarstan and the subjects of joint jurisdiction of the Russian Federation and its subjects within the powers of the Republic of Tatarstan, the establishment of the administrative-territorial structure of the Republic of Tatarstan and the procedure for changing it, establishing the organization and activities of republican and local authorities and administrations, approval of the state budget and other . The Parliament elects the Constitutional Court, approves the candidacies of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Chairperson and Deputy Chairperson of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Tatarstan, elects justices of the peace of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Republic of Tatarstan, agrees on the candidacy for the position of the Prosecutor of the Republic of Tatarstan. In accordance with Article 82 of the Constitution of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Chairman of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan chairs the State Council and chairs its meetings, organizes the work of the State Council, represents the State Council in relations with other bodies of state power of the Republic of Tatarstan and local authorities, federal bodies of state power, parliaments other states, public associations, exercises other powers provided envisaged by the Constitution, laws of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Rules of Procedure of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan. Presidium of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan
In accordance with Regulation [2] , the Presidium of the State Council convenes sessions and plenary meetings of the State Council and organizes the preparation of its meetings, prepares draft agendas for sessions of the State Council, coordinates the activities of standing and other commissions, the Parliamentary Control Committee of the State Council, and provides assistance to people's deputies of the Republic Tatarstan in the exercise of their powers and provides them with the necessary information, organizes the preparation and holding of national goals IAOD (referenda), as well as public discussion of draft laws of the Republic of Tatarstan and other most important issues of public life, publishes laws of the Republic of Tatarstan and other acts adopted by the State Council [3] and its Presidium, solves other issues of organization of work of the State Council.

RT Public Chamber
On the basis of the law of the Republic of Tatarstan "On the Public Chamber of the Republic of Tatarstan" dated April 27, 2017 N 24-ЗРТ, the public chamber is formed for 3 years, in the amount of 60 members. The Public Chamber is formed proportionally, one third is approved by the President of the Republic of Tatarstan and the State Council, the other part is elected from public organizations. [four]

Since the end of 2010, State Council deputies have been actively using electronic tablets of the American company Apple - iPad in their work at meetings.
