The Sovetsky District Museum of Local Lore is the main institution of local history in the Sovetsky District of the Kirov Region . Located in the city of Sovetsk , Kirov region , Russia .
History
The Soviet District Museum of Local Lore was opened on June 16, 1910 at the initiative of an amateur - local historian A. S. Lebedev ( 1888 - 1937 ). From 1919 - 1922 there were two museums - the native history museum and the arts and antiquities. In 1922, both museums were combined into one scientific and art museum, which in 1926 was transformed into a museum of the local region. Since 1936, the museum has been called the museum of local lore. From 1982 - 1997, the museum was a branch of the Kirov United Historical, Architectural and Literary Museum. In November 1985, the museum moves to new squares. From 1986 to 1991, together with artists from the Kirov art and production workshops, new expositions were arranged: departments of nature, history of the region, pre-October past, history from 1917 to 1991 , famous compatriots, equipped with an exhibition hall.
Building: The former building of the Transfiguration Church, built in 1752 . In the 1930s it was partially destroyed. Additional areas are attached to the right.
Before the museum in the building was the district house of Culture.
