AES / AES + F ( AES / AES + F ) is one of the most successful (including commercial) [1] Russian art groups . AES + F works in the genre of installation , photography , video, sculpture, etc.
Content
History
The group exists since 1987 . The name of the group is formed by the initials of its permanent members - Tatiana Arzamasova, Lev Evzovich and Yevgeny Svyatsky. Since 1995, photographer Vladimir Fridkes has joined the group; its name has increased by one letter: "AES + F" (AES + F). [one]
In 2007, the AES + F group with the project “Last Riot” represented Russia at the Venice Biennale , in the same year, the State Russian Museum ( St. Petersburg ) and the Moscow Museum of Modern Art presented a major retrospective of the group’s works. "LE VERT PARADIS ... / IL PARADISO VERDE ..." was shown first in Passage de Retz (Paris) and then at the MACRO Museum (Rome). In 2009, the premiere of AES + F's nine-channel HD video installation The Feast of Trimalchio was held at the 53rd Venice Biennale as part of the Unconditional Love exhibition (parallel program). Also in 2009, the premiere of the new sculptural project “Parade of Angel-Demons” took place during the festival “lille3000” in Lille, France. [2] The Moscow premiere of the project “The Feast of Trimalchion” (9-channel video installation and a series of 18 paintings) was held at the Garage Center for Contemporary Culture on June 18, 2010. The 9 channel video installation “Pir Trimalchion” was one of the main projects of the 17th Sydney Biennale (2010). The 4th Moscow Biennale of Contemporary Art hosted the premiere of the new project “Allegoria Sacra” - the third part of the trilogy launched by the Last Riot project (2007), the exhibition was held in the Multimedia Art Museum Moscow. In 2012, the world premiere of “The Liminal Space Trilogy” took place - simultaneously at the Manezh Central Exhibition Hall (Moscow) and Martin-Gropius-Bau (Berlin).
In 2007, the jury of the Kuryokhin Award was named the “Sacred Allegory” by the AES + F Group as the best media object in the nomination “Work of Visual Art”. The award ceremony of the Sergey Kuryokhin Center for Contemporary Art took place on April 5, 2012 in St. Petersburg. [3] . For the video work “Sacred Allegory” the group was awarded the Kandinsky Prize (2012) in the nomination “Project of the Year” [4] .
