Jacob Aronovich Kasman (born February 24, 1967 , Orel ) is a Russian-American pianist.

He graduated from the Moscow Conservatory in the class of Mikhail Voskresensky ( 1994 ), with a break in service in the army in the Far East, during which he played in the army ensemble on the tuba [1] . In 1991 , he won the Valentino Bucca International Piano Competition in Rome. Among other significant competitive achievements Kasman - second place at the International Competition named after Prokofiev (St. Petersburg, 1995) and at the International Competition Van Cliburn (Fort Worth, 1997).
In 1996 - 1998 He taught piano at the music school at the Moscow Conservatory. Then he gradually moved to the United States and in 2006 received American citizenship. He teaches at the University of Alabama (USA).
Among the most notable recordings by Kasman are Tchaikovsky 's suite The Seasons, all of Prokofiev’s piano sonatas, concerts for piano and orchestra by Shostakovich and Schnittke (with the Kaliningrad orchestra conducted by Emmanuel Leduc-Barom ).
