True North is a regional newspaper in the Arkhangelsk region . Published since April 1, 1917 (March 19 with the old style) [1] . Previously bore the title of "News of the Arkhangelsk Council of Workers 'and Soldiers' Deputies" and "Wave". It is released weekly in A3 format, the volume of 24 pages. Retirement at Rospechat Kiosks in 2010
According to the editorial board of the newspaper Pravda Severa, on May 28, 2010, on Wednesday, a fresh issue of the newspaper was withdrawn from the stalls of the Rospechat Network. On the same day, a warning came from Municipal Unitary Enterprise Rospechat to terminate the PS distribution agreement. According to the publication, most likely these events are associated with criticism of the mayor - V. Pavlenko , who could give an unspoken order, since Rospechat is a municipal enterprise. The editors accuse the mayor of obstructing the dissemination of information. At MUE Rospechat, Pravda Severa filed a complaint with the antimonopoly committee [2] [3] .
2016
On February 19, 2016, the next issue of the oldest Arkhangelsk regional newspaper Pravda Severa did not go out of print. The newspaper is suspended [4] [5] .
Resume Newspaper
After an almost six-month break, on August 17, 2016, the light appeared on the latest issue [6] of Truth of the North. The newspaper dramatically changed the distribution tactics, came to a new schedule of exits: once every two weeks (later the schedule of exits was changed). Renewed mail, editorial and corporate subscription. The newspaper has radically changed the design, the logo has changed. The editor-in-chief was Denis Gorin. The editor of the newspaper, as before the break, remained Svetlana Loychenko.
100th Anniversary of the Newspaper
Pravda Severa celebrated its centennial anniversary on May 16, 2017. On this day, a large gala evening took place in the great hall of the Arkhangelsk Drama Theater named after M.V. Lomonosov, during which the newspaper staff received congratulations and awards, the persons in charge presented them, and the creative teams performed their numbers.
Other thematic events were timed to coincide with the newspaper’s centenary: exhibitions were organized, a series of programs devoted to the history of the newspaper was shown on the television channel Pravda Severa, a corresponding section appeared in the newspaper itself, and the second edition of the book by Sergei Domoroschenov and Albert Novoselov “Our the main newspaper, dedicated to The Truth of the North.
2018
From the beginning of 2018 to the present moment, the newspaper again changed the schedule of exits. Fresh issues are released weekly, with bandwidth reduced to 24 pages. Eight pages containing a television program and several other materials are published in black and white.

In 1968, the newspaper was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor [7] .
In 2018, the victory was awarded to an article by Natalya Parakhnevich in the nomination "Life Without Barriers" of the contest "Disabled Person and Society" [8] .
