Anna Petrovna also marked the beginning of the revival of the Russian original (including color) woodcuts , and worked in the technique of lithography , and in watercolor .
Depicted mostly views of St. Petersburg and its environs. One of the few artists who organically created landscapes, including architectural structures in the composition.
Her activity as a portrait painter was also successful - in the Russian Museum there is a portrait of Maximilian Voloshin by Anna Petrovna.
From memoirs of contemporaries
- A. N. Benoit : “... in engravings, she owns the fortress of a stroke, which allows her to bring to the extreme degree of convincing laconism the transfer of her impressions; in engravings, she, like anyone else, can, using the minimum of the color scale, convey the desired mood in colors. In watercolors, she pleases the eye with the freedom of a brush stroke, and again, these things of her shine with enchanting modulations and consonance of colors unusually keenly noticed in nature . ”
