Content
History
Like most districts of the Moldavian SSR , it was formed on November 11, 1940 with a center in the village of Straseni . Until October 16, 1949, it was part of the Chisinau county , after the abolition of the county division, it became directly republican subordinate.
From January 31, 1952 to June 15, 1953, the district was part of the Chisinau district , after the abolition of the district division, it again became directly subordinate to the republic.
On December 25, 1962, the Straseni district was abolished, but two years later ( December 23, 1964 ), it was restored. At the same time, about a quarter of the district remained in the neighboring regions.
From 1999 to 2002 , as part of the ongoing administrative reform, the district was part of Chisinau County . After the abolition of the county division, the district again became an independent administrative unit.
Geography
The Straseni district is located in the center of Moldova and borders on the Hincesti and Ialoveni districts and the Chisinau municipality in the south, Criuleni district in the east, Orhei and Kalarai in the north and Nisporeni in the west.

Attractions
- In the village of Kapriyana is a monastery of the XIV century.
- The landscape reserve “Capriana-Scoreni”, oak of Stephen III the Great and the oldest reserve in Moldova - “ Codri ”.
- In the village of Dolna is the Rally Arbor estate, located in the center of a small park decorated with a bust of Pushkin , and the Zamfira Spring.
- Gidigichsky reservoir
