Preacher of the teachings of Luther in Sweden , translator of the Bible into Swedish . At first close to Gustav, Lavrenty did not approve of the king’s strictly monarchical view of the church, and therefore fell into disgrace. He was accused (in 1539 ) of high treason due to his reluctance to transfer the church under the complete authority of the king. Sentenced to death, Lavrenty bought off her a large sum of money.
