In 1978, he graduated from the faculty of international relations and international law of the Taras Shevchenko Kyiv State University with a degree in reference and translator from the German language. Candidate of Historical Sciences , speaks German and English .

Diplomatic career

Political career

In February 2005, he was appointed First Deputy Foreign Minister Boris Tarasyuk . He was considered to be a like-minded supporter of the pro-Western foreign policy.

On January 30, 2007, after Tarasyuk’s resignation, Vladimir Ogryzko was appointed acting head of the Foreign Ministry. The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine twice rejected his candidacy for the post of minister, introduced by President Viktor Yushchenko : On February 22, 196 deputies supported Ogryzko, March 20 - 195 deputies, with 226 needed. declared in January 2007 that "Vladimir Ogryzko hates Russia and the Russians." March 3, 2009 was dismissed by the Verkhovna Rada. The resignation decree, introduced by Party of Regions deputy Vasiliy Kiselyov, contained accusations against Ogryzko that he worsened relations with Russia, failed in the sphere of integration with the European Union and did not defend the interests of Ukraine while dividing the continental shelf. The resolution was supported by 250 votes: 174 deputies from the Party of Regions, 27 communists and 49 " byutovtsev " [2] [3] .

On March 17, 2009, Viktor Yushchenko appointed Vladimir Ogryzko as First Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (Presidential Decree No. 163/2009), where he had previously served as Minister for Foreign Affairs [4] . Two days before Viktor Yanukovych’s inauguration, on February 23, 2010, Ogryzko resigned from the post of Deputy Chairman of the National Security and Defense Council [5] . The next day, Yushchenko accepted the resignation [6] .

In September 2010, Ogryzko joined the Our Ukraine party [7] . In July 2012, he resigned as a member of the presidium and deputy chairman of the political council of the party and ceased his membership in it [8] .

At the parliamentary elections of 2012, he decided to run for parliament in the list of the URP “Sobor” [9] .
