Biography
Alexander Delabord is the fourth son of the famous financier Jean-Joseph Delabord (1724 - 1794) and Rosalie Nettin (1737 - 1820). During the French Revolution, Alexander was sent by his father to Vienna , with a letter of recommendation to Emperor Joseph II. In 1794, Jean-Joseph Delabord was guillotined [1] .
In revenge for his father, Alexander fought in the ranks of the Austrian forces against a totalitarian republic. On December 10, 1789, 16-year-old Alexander Delabord was appointed an officer of the 3rd Infantry Regiment, stationed in Olomouc ( Moravia ). Appointed in October 1791 as captain in the 6th regiment of light cavalry, Delabord fought the following year against the French revolutionary armies in Flanders and Luxembourg. In 1795, he took a long vacation to find his mother and sister in Switzerland, and then his brother in England. Then he again joined the Austrian army, in the Hussar regiment of Kinsky.
After traveling to Germany, Holland and Italy, Delabord in 1797 returned to France under an amnesty. He entered the service of Talleyrand. In 1800 he served at the French Embassy in Madrid . In March 1801 he returned to France. In 1809-1827 Delabord has published 5 volumes (in total) of descriptions of his travels in Spain.
In 1814 , Delabord participated in the negotiations on the surrender of Paris.
He studied the Lancaster method in England , participated in the organization of mutual learning in Paris. In the Chamber of Deputies (since 1820 ) belonged to the liberal opposition, took an active part in the July Revolution. When Louis Philippe belonged to the left center. He was a sen prefect.
