Churkin, Sergey Alexandrovich

Born November 22, 1956 ^[1] .

In 1979 he graduated from the Vologda Polytechnic Institute with a degree in mechanical engineering. In 1979-1980 he served in the Soviet Army ^[2] .

In 1981-1986 he worked at a design institute, in 1987-1991 he taught at SPTU, in 1991-1992 he headed a private company ^[2] .

In 1990 he joined the LDPR , in 1991-1992 he was a member of its Central Committee ^[2] , coordinator of the Vologda Oblast Organization of the LDPR ^[3] .

In 1993 he was elected to the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation; He was a member of the Defense Committee ^[1] , headed the subcommittee on military-technical policy and international military cooperation. He was a secretary of the LDPR faction ^[1] .

From 1996 to 1998, he worked at the International Counter-Terrorism Training Association, the initiator of the development and co-author of the Federal Law on Combating Terrorism (as amended in 1997). At the same time in 1997 he graduated from the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Russian Federation ; Specialist of public service in the field of national security. In the same year he defended his thesis at the Academy of International Business Cooperation of the USA with the assignment of a master's degree in business administration in the field of security.

From 1998 to 2009, he worked in the office of the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation. In 2009 - Advisor to the Department of International Cooperation of the Federal Drug Control Service of Russia . State Advisor to the Russian Federation, Grade 2 .
