James Bond
Agent 007 is an English spy .
Bond bosses and colleagues
M
M - head of the British secret service MI-6. The name "M" was coined by Jan Fleming , he took the first letter of the name of the really existing head of the Secret Service of His Majesty Mansfield Smith-Cumming. M appears in all series of Bond, except for the movie " Only for your eyes ." He assigns Agent 007 to James Bond. At MI-6 headquarters in London, M has a private office in the reception room of which his secretary, Miss Manipenny, is sitting. Personality M changes from time to time, it can be either a man or a woman. The names of M are classified. The real name and title, Admiral, Sir Miles Messervy, is pronounced only in the book "The Man with the Golden Gun."
Q
Q - just like M, this is a code name, in this case it means the first letter of the word Quartermaster (quartermaster). Q is head of Division Q, a British Secret Service research center. He constantly supplies James Bond with useful espionage techniques.
Miss Manipenny
Miss Manipenny is Secretary of M, Bond Chief.
Sir Fredrick Gray
Sir Fredrik Gray , or simply the Minister (Sir Frederick Gray) - British Secretary of Defense, appearing in the films: “The Spy Who Loved Me ”, “ Moonraker ”, “ For Your Eyes Only ”, “ Octopus ”, “ View to kill ”,“ Sparks from the Eyes ”( Living Daylights ). The performer of the role is Jeffrey Keane . The exact ratio of the positions of the Minister of Defense and the Chief of MI-6 in the films is not defined - M, seemingly the youngest in rank, always keeps independent. As a rule, Sir Fredrick and M appear together at the beginning of the film, when setting the Bondou battle mission; in the future, M deals with operational issues, and the Minister of Defense carries out “cover” of operations to the Prime Minister. The Minister always takes a conservative, cautious position and does not share the aggressive approach of MI-6 to solving problems.
In the first film, Bond panibratically calls the minister "Freddy"; in the final of the film, the minister is misled when his department’s cameras broadcast the bed scene with Bond. This is probably why in subsequent films the relationship between Bond and the Minister is built strictly officially. The embarrassment with the broadcast is repeated in the finals of the films “The Lunar Wanderer” (again the bed scene) and “For Your Eyes Only”, when in the presence of the Minister Bill Tanner connects Margaret Thatcher not with Bond, but with a talking parrot .
In real life, the “service” of Sir Fredrick would have occurred during the change of Labor and Conservative governments, in which defense ministers would have necessarily changed.
Bill Tanner
Bill Tanner (Bill Tanner) - Head of Personnel Management MI-6. Appears with significant interruptions in the films: “The Man with the Golden Gun ” (played by Michael Goodleaf ), “ For Your Eyes Only ” (played by James Villiers ), “The Golden Eye ”, “ And the World Is Not Enough ” (played by Michael Kitchen ), in the film The Royale casino , instead of Bill Tanner, is replaced by Willers M (played by Tobayas Menzies ), and in the films Quantum of Solace , 007: Skyfall Coordinates and 007: Spectrum Bill Tanner appears again (played by Rory Kinnear ) .
In the first of these films, Tanner pronounces only two lines and does not appear in the list of actors and performers. In the film “For Your Eyes Only”, Tanner essentially replaces the missing M - sets the task of Bond, scatters it for the death of Gonzales, and finally arranges the aforementioned embarrassment with the parrot. In the films Golden Eye, And the World Is Not Enough, his role is again reduced to one and four short episodes, respectively.
Charles Robinson
Charles Robinson is a high-ranking black MI-6 official (Spanish Colin Samon ). Appears in the films: “ Tomorrow Never Dies ,” “ And the Whole World is Not Enough ,” “ Die, but Not Now .” Robinson succeeded the aged Bill Tanner. Appears next to M when setting up a combat mission for Bond (in the opening short story “Tomorrow Never Dies” - single-handedly). His appearances in all three episodes are limited to short episodes; Robinson does not lead independent storylines.
Rene Mathis
Rene Mathis is a MI6 resident in Montenegro and a former MI6 resident in Bolivia (Spanish: Giancarlo Giannini ). Appears in the films: “ Casino Royale ”, “ Quantum of Solace ”. Helps Bond in operations in Montenegro and Bolivia . He was suspected of treason, but later acquitted and retired. Bond also turns to him for help when he is pursued by his own Mi-6 service. Bond dies in his arms from blood loss when Bolivian police officers shoot him.
Other Two Zero Agents
With one exception (006), they are known for having been killed in the movie ties (001 appears only in books):
- For the first time, all agents 00 appear in the frame, gathering in the conference hall of the MI6 office in the film "Ball Lightning . " There are 9 of them in total, including Bond. All men. All brunettes. Agent 006 wears a goatee beard. Agent 009 wears a gold ring on the little finger of his right hand.
- For the second and last time, all 00 agents appear in the film “ And the World Is Not Enough, ” at MI6’s second headquarters in Scotland. It can be seen that at least one of the agents is a woman.
- 002 - “Bill Fairbanks” - killed by Francisco Scaramanga in Beirut , 1969 (“The Man with the Golden Gun ”). It reappears in the opening novel of the film “ Living Daylights ”, it is possible that this is already another person working under number 002 (see 004, 005).
- 003 - died in the far north of the USSR while trying to steal a secret chip (" View of the murder ").
- 004 - was killed in the opening novel of the film “ Sparks from the Eyes, ” when renegades from the KGB try to push British and Soviet intelligence services again.
- 005 - not killed, live in Kirov, under the guise of the federals.
- 006 - the only agent 00, well-known in person - Alec Trevelyan, a defector from MI-6, the main antagonist from the movie " Golden Eye " (Spanish Sean Bean ). Killed by Bond.
- 007 - in the film Bond 25 , James resigns, and his license 007 is transferred to the new agent to the woman Nomi. The new agent 007 is played by black actress Lashana Lynch [1] .
- 008 - is referred to as a replacement if Bond cannot complete the tasks (for example, in Goldfinger). In the film “And the whole world is not enough” in one of the shots it can be seen that agent 008 is a woman.
- 009 - mortally wounded with a Faberge egg in his hand, Bear and Grishka in the movie " Octopus ". M is mentioned in the film " And the whole world is not enough ." It was 009 who fired that bullet at Renard, which slowly kills him, and because of which he ceases to feel. - 0010 - The Baines agent is killed on the island of San Monique in the movie Live and Let Die . He and Bond had one tailor .

- 0012 - Agent Dos was killed in New York in the movie Live and Let Die .
- 0013 - Hamilton agent killed in New Orleans opposite the Fillet of Soul restaurant in the movie Live and Let Die .
Bond Allies: USSR and Russia
General Gogol
General Gogol (Anatoly Alekseevich Gogol, Eng. Anatol Alexis Gogol ) is the head of the Soviet KGB special service . Despite the fact that it is a potential enemy of the British intelligence service MI-6, rather a positive character. As a rule, it collaborates with MI-6 in eradicating common enemies. Four times Hero of the Soviet Union . He likes to personally take part in field operations abroad, despite the fact that this is completely incompatible with his status.
Appears in the performance of Walter Gotell in the films: “The Spy Who Loved Me ”, “ Moonraker ”, “ For Your Eyes Only ”, “ Octopus ”, “ View of the Kill ”, “ Sparks from the Eyes ” ( Living Daylights ) . In the last film, Gogol was officially transferred from the KGB to the USSR Ministry of Foreign Affairs . Probably, this is an honorable resignation, since in the same film “the main party” of the Soviet special services is led by General Pushkin .
In big politics, Gogol adheres to the ideas of detente and peaceful coexistence ( detente ). He proves his words by deed in the movie "Octopus", personally organizing a hunt for General Orlov, who decided to blow up the world. In the movie “View of the Kill”, after the defeat of the next common enemy, Gogol celebrates his victory with Sir Fredrick Gray and M in London . From Gogol’s personal life, it is only known that he selected exclusively beautiful employees for service and received them in his Kremlin bedroom (it is possible that this is a hint of L.P. Beria ). Gogol is bald, wears good glasses and jackets of light tones of free cut. Nothing is known about Gogol’s fate after the events of the film “Sparks from the Eyes”.
For Anatoly Alekseevich, James Bond is just an agent of a competing organization, but Gogol recognizes Bond's abilities and tries, if possible, to use them. In the film “The Spy Who Loved Me”, he manipulates the scout, KGB major, Anya Amasova, instilling in her the need to kill Bond for reasons of personal revenge (Bond at the beginning of the picture kills her lover Ani Amasova) and to infiltrate the maniac Stromberg’s organization. In the movie “View of the murder”, Gogol sends Paul Ivanov to Bond to steal the wanted recordings of the negotiations of another villain - Max Zorin. Bond successfully replaces the tape. The only personal clash between Gogol and Bond takes place in the finale of the film “For Your Eyes Only”, when Bond destroys the secret ATAC encryption device that the KGB hunted for. Gogol is satisfied that the device did not fall into the hands of the "third force", and graciously allows Bond to leave alive. It was Gogol who presented Bond with the Order of Lenin (“View of the murder”), and his dissident girlfriend Kara Milova with an entry visa to all countries of the Soviet bloc (“Sparks from the Eyes”).
General Pushkin
General Leonid Pushkin (Spanish John Rhys-Davis ) - succeeded Gogol as the main representative of the USSR in the Bond, starting with the film “ Living Daylights ”. General Koskov, a KGB defector, is trying to manipulate Western intelligence, representing Pushkin as the main enemy of mankind, but the truth triumphs, and Bond, with the support of Pushkin, destroys the base of the real enemy, and surrenders Koskov himself to Soviet bodies. Pushkin sends Koskov to his homeland "in diplomatic mail " (a suitcase for the transport of classified documents).
Major Amasova
KGB Major Anna (Anya) Amasova - “Agent XXX” (Spanish: Barbara Bach ) - according to General Gogol, “Agent XXX” is the best KGB agent.
Zhukovsky
Valentin Dmitrievich Zhukovsky - a former KGB officer who, with the collapse of the USSR, became an entrepreneur with obvious criminal connections (Spanish Robbie Coltrane ). Zhukovsky’s business is based on Baku oil and black caviar. For a long time, while still a KGB field agent, Zhukovsky had a collision with Bond and remained lame forever, which does not prevent him from collaborating with the British again. First appeared in the Golden Eye film, Zhukovsky dies in the film And the Whole World is Not Enough at the hands of Electra King , but before his death he manages to help Bond free himself from the trap and kill first Electra King and Renard.
Bond Allies: USA
Felix Leiter
A CIA agent from the United States is an ally of Bond. At the end of the movie, “ Quantum of Solace ” becomes the CIA 's Latin America Office Head.
Harold Strater
Strater , a CIA agent, was killed in New Orleans across from the Fillet of Soul restaurant in Live and Let Die .
Jack Wade
Jack Wade performed by Jon Don Baker Deputy Felix Leiter as CIA operative in the films Golden Eye and Tomorrow Never Dies . In the previous film, Sparks from the Eyes, Joe Don Baker did not play the role of “his own,” but of the villain Whittaker’s arms dealer.
The character is named after the real person - the scriptwriter of the bondian Kevin Wade. He plays the role of a “stereotypical American” (from a European point of view) - a heavy, narrow-minded, but honest guy. Like Bond, he is not inclined to respect the formal protocol and boldly goes against the rules of his office. He has in intimate places tattoos with a picture of a rose and the name "Muffy" - in memory of his third wife.
Jay Double Pepper
Sheriff Jay Double Pepper (JW Pepper, initial decoding unknown) is a policeman from a provincial town in Louisiana ( Clifton James ). Acts as a “comic outlet” in tense episodes of the films “ Live and Let Die ” and “The Man with the Golden Gun” . Fat, smug, narrow-minded, speaking with a southern accent as if his mouth was always full. Has a charming wife of the same complexion ("The Man with the Golden Gun"), with whom he travels around Thailand . It has a good facial memory - a year later he managed to recognize Bond in Thailand. Always averse to risking and engaging in a desperate pursuit.
