Initially, the station was located between 6th and 5th streets and opened on May 25, 1981. April 7, 2008 was closed for major repairs, like all stations on 7th Avenue. The new station was opened on March 27, 2009 (a little less than a year after the closure of the old station), and the old one was immediately demolished.
Like all platforms on 7th Avenue, West Sixth Street can simultaneously serve 4 cars.
In 2005, an average passenger flow of 7900 landings was recorded [2] .
In 2008, the website Calgary Transit conducted a study in which it confirmed the 2005 data [3] .
