Arash Labafzade [1] ( Persian آرش لباف , azerb. Arəş Ləbaf Zadə , Swede. Arash Labaf ; April 23, 1977 , Tehran ) - Iran - Swedish singer , dancer , composer and producer . A participant in the Eurovision 2009 music contest, along with Aysel Teymurzade from Azerbaijan , where they sang the song “ Always ” in a duet and took 3rd place in the finals.

Biography
Arash Labafzade was born on April 23, 1977 in Tehran. Arash's great-grandfather, an Azerbaijani , was originally from Ardabil [1] . In 2009, in an interview with AiF , he said that he was half Azerbaijani, half Iranian , and Azerbaijani roots from his father [2] . The first 10 years of his life he lived in Tehran. From there, he emigrated with his parents to Europe .
In the late 1980s, he moved to the Swedish city of Uppsala , where he lived for about five years. Then he changed the name of Labafzade to Labaf. Later, he moved with his family to Malmö , where he lived until 2016. After college, became interested in music. In an interview, he spoke about his first appearances:
 | The guys and I created the first group back in school, at the age of 14. And we gave concerts every month in different places, mainly for peers. Since then I began to write songs. And very interested in this process. Then we did our first demos. There wasn’t even enough money at that time. One Swedish church helped us a lot. Now, together with my friends, I am a co-owner of the very first studio where we wrote a demo. [3] |
Composed and produced music, in particular, wrote soundtracks for Indian and Swedish films. In 2004, the single Boro Boro became number 2 hit in Sweden in 4 weeks and then took first place in almost all world charts and charts.
This was followed by two years of hard work, tours around the world, of which the highlights are a full house at the Universal Amphitheater, Los Angeles , filming in the Bollywood movie Bluffmaster , a speech at the mayor’s birthday party, a couple of hundred live concerts and recordings on TV in more than twenty countries.
In March 2005, Arash released his first record Arash . He sang one of the songs with Swedish rapper Timbuktu , and the other with Iranian singer Ebi . Arash was the best-selling album of 2006 (MIDEM Award) and made it to the top 5 IFPI (International Federation of the Phonographic Industry).
In 2006, the single “ Chori Chori ” was released, recorded in a duet with Anila .
In Russia, Arash recorded several singles with popular Russian artists: the group Brilliant (Oriental Tales), Anna Semenovich (At the seaside), The Godfather (Baskon), Factory (Ali Baba). In 2006, the Arash award collection was replenished with two Golden Gramophone awards.
Arash worked on the single “Donya” with star of the Jamaican reggae Shaggy , whose biography already had platinum albums in the USA by that time. The release of "Donya" made Arash's name recognizable among pop music lovers around the world. [4] In five countries, Donya has gained gold status. [5]
The Donya album was released in 2008 . It included the tracks "Chori Chori", "Suddenly", "Donya" and "Pure Love", recorded in a duet with Helena Yousefsson . In 2009, “Pure Love” became the best-selling in Russia and the CIS. [4] In addition to Shaggy , Arash was assisted in a two-year work on the album by the founder of Swedish rap Lumidee and renowned hitmaker Timbuktu . The singer has sold over a million copies of his album. [6]
The largest concerts: live performances at an open stadium in Kazakhstan in the city of Alma-Ata - 100,000 people and in Poland , Sweden - 120,000. On closed venues - 2 shows at the Olimpiysky sports complex in Moscow, 40,000 people each .
In November 2008, he sent his English-language song “ Always ” to the selection round of the Eurovision Song Contest in Azerbaijan . In February 2009, it became known that Aysel and Arash would represent Azerbaijan in Moscow with the song “Always” . On May 14, Aisel and Arash, following the results of voting in the second semi-final, went to the final of the competition, where they took third place, losing to Norway and Iceland.
At the end of 2010, Arash introduced his new single, “Broken Angel,” and again with Helena. The song takes the first lines in the charts of Muz TV, Europe Plus, DFM, etc. The model starred in the video Marianne Puglia . There is also a video how this clip was shot .
In March 2011, the shooting of the film “Rhino Season” by the Iranian director Bahman Ghobadi, where Arash and Hollywood actress Monica Bellucci starred, was completed.
Arash and Helena became special guests of the MUZ-TV Award 2011 and performed their hit "Broken Angel".
In October 2012, the premiere of Arash's new song “She Makes Me Go”, recorded with the participation of Grammy Awards winner Jamaican singer Sean Paul .
Arash did what few managed before - performing his songs not in English, but in the incomprehensible majority of his Farsi fans, managed to become a world-class star. [7]
November 4, 2014 the long-awaited release of the 3rd studio album entitled "Superman". The album was recorded over 6.5 years. It included 13 tracks and 4 bonus tracks.
On June 14, 2018, he released the song Goelie Goelie together with the singer Nyusha and two rappers Pitbull and Blanco , dedicated to the World Cup in Russia, and then performed on it.
Personal life
March 28, 2011 Arash married his girlfriend Behnaz Ansari, whom he met in 2004. The wedding took place in Dubai , on the shores of the Persian Gulf . On April 22, 2012, his wife gave birth to twins : a boy, Darian, and a girl, Don. From 2016 to the present, lives in Dubai.
